Vitamin K shots causes Jaundice in newborns?

Newborns start making Vitamin K on their own on the 8th day. Vitamin K causes the blood to clot and should only be given if baby needs surgery or has alot of bruising. Also a newborn given a Vitamin K shot will more than likely have Jaundice. My baby was born at home with a midwife and didn't have a Vitamin K shot and she didn't get Jaundice and was perfectly fine.
